Team Magna Mazda get on their bikes for charity
Employees from Magna Mazda in Canford Cliffs have set their sights high by promising to cycle 300 miles from London to Paris on 11 July in aid of Poole’s Lewis-Manning Hospice.
Gary Evans from Christchurch and Wayne Hales from Poole aim to raise at least £3000 for the charity which provides free care and support for people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

The pair started cycling last year to keep fit and decided to combine their new hobby with helping a local cause, Gary said: “We’re both keen cyclists and we like to keep fit, so we decided to challenge ourselves whilst helping a local charity.”
Wayne added: “We’d love to raise as many funds as possible for Lewis-Manning Hospice, as its local to us and we both know people who have been cared for in a hospice and who have had cancer.”
The 300 mile ride is expected to take them four days. If you’d like to sponsor the team please visit their Virgin Money Giving page on http://bit.ly/teammagna.
Sally Goodenough, Corporate and Legacies Fundraiser said: “This is a fantastic idea and we’re hoping that everyone gets behind them to raise as much funding for the hospice as possible.”
Lewis-Manning Hospice is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and is getting set to move back into their brand new state of the art facility in Lilliput in the spring.
Sally added: “We are looking for 18 more people to take part in the ride to bring it to 20 people for the hospice’s 20 years.”
