Keys to Success

Lewis-Manning has a brand new van for its furniture collections and deliveries service.

Simon Hartwell handed over the keys for a brand new, purpose built Citroen Relay van to LMH.  Ferndown Citroen dealer, Simon Hartwell Limited part sponsored the van, which is much needed due to the success of the hospice’s ‘New Leaf’ Furniture Warehouse on the Nuffield Industrial Estate.

Simon Hartwell commented: “Lewis-Manning Hospice is a very special place. The team provide such wonderful care for people living with life-threatening illnesses. This really is a most worthwhile charity and deserves our full and on-going support. We are very pleased to be able to help them.”

The van will be used to collect donations of furniture, which will then be taken to the warehouse for restoration before being sold in aid of the hospice. 

The furniture ‘recycling’ scheme has been very popular and the modern, larger van will mean the hospice can keep up with demand of collections and deliveries.  The van will also be used to distribute items which are donated to our charity shops.

‘New Leaf’ is a joint venture between Lewis-Manning and Poole Social Services.  Adult volunteers who need help in getting ‘work ready’ have the opportunity to train in work practices and learn new skills by learning to renovate the donated furniture.  A large range of furniture can be hand picked at the warehouse or smaller pieces can be found in the hospice’s charity shops.
