Lewis-Manning Hospice benefits from ITV1’s Text Santa charity appeal

We were delighted to hear the news that we received £1,500 from ITV1’s charity appeal Text Santa.

Help the Hospices, a national charity that supports hospice care throughout the UK was chosen as one of the beneficiaries from the programme broadcast in December 2011 which raised £4.1million.

From that total, £686,000 went to Help the Hospices, and was then shared amongst its member hospices.

Maria Tidy, Fundraising Manager at Lewis-Manning Hospice said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who donated money through the Text Santa appeal, and the £1,500 that we received will go towards providing high quality care for local people free of charge.”

We receive a third of our funding from NHS Bournemouth and Poole, the remaining £50,000 needed each month is raised through our 10 shops, legacies and fundraising initiatives. We are also celebrating our 20th anniversary this year and encouraging people to donate £20 for our 20 years.
