Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving is an easy and tax effective way to make donations to Lewis-Manning from your pay if you are a UK taxpayer. You can give as much as you like and donations are tax-free. A little, regular help from you means a big help to us.
Why is Payroll Giving good for LMH?
Regular giving is very important as it helps us plan for the long-term and make commitments to improve care that would otherwise not be possible. It also helps cut down our administration costs.
Who can payroll give?
If you are a paid through Pay As You Earn (PAYE) or are retired and a member of a superannuation scheme, you can be a payroll giver.
How does Payroll Giving work?
You authorise your employer to deduct how much you would like to donate and that is taken from your pay packet. Your employer then pays these donations to a Payroll Giving Agency who passes the donation money to LMH. Because your donation is deducted before the tax is calculated, the amount you would normally pay in tax is paid to LMH.
This means that LMH gets a bigger donation and it costs you less. For example:
If you are taxed at the basic rate:
Amount of donation Cost to you£5.00 £3.90£10.00 £7.80
If you are taxed at the higher rate:
Amount of donation Cost to you£5.00 £3.00£10.00 £6.00
How much can I give?
There is no minimum or maximum donation. We would be very grateful for whatever you can afford.
What if I want to cancel my donation?
Payroll Giving is very flexible so if you do want to cancel just tell your payroll department.
What should I do if I'm interested?
Talk to your employer and find out if they already operate Payroll Giving. If not, call Dawn in the fundraising team at Lewis-Manning on 01202 701000 for a Payroll Giving pack or if you would like further information.
