Our volunteers are so important to us and form a central part of the running of the hospice - without them we wouldn’t be able to offer such a high standard of care. Our volunteers do everything from driving patients to and from the hospice and serving meals in day hospice, to helping at fundraising events and hairdressing. During volunteers week we took the opportunity to say a big thank you for all that they do.

Hospice Awareness Month

June was Hospice Awareness Month - a whole month dedicated to raising the awareness of the imortant role played by hospices in community.

Sunflower

The Sunflower is the symbol of the hospice movement and yellow is the colour representing hope and memory. With this in mind, there were lots of 'yellow' themed fundraising activities going on throughout the month, both to raise funds and awareness.
