Host your own event

Hosting your own event is an excellent way to raise money, and is also great fun

St Patrick's Night

Organising your own fundraising event can be a great opportunity to get together with friends, family and members of the local community. Here are just a few ideas for the types of events you could organise.

Quiz Night - everyone loves a brainteaser so why not organise a quiz for your friends or colleagues and ask for a donation per team?

BBQ, Tea or Dinner Party - you could provide the food, drinks and fun for your guests in return for donations. Why not make it fancy dress and offer a prize for the best costume?

Karaoke Night - hire a karaoke machine, get some snacks in and get ready to laugh or sing the night away, depending on the vocal abilities of your guests.  You could ask for small donation for entries and offer a prize for the best & worst renditions.

Jumble Sale or Car Boot - one man's junk is another man's treasure! Ask your friends and relatives to sort out their unwanted items and sell them to people who really want them. You could then donate the proceeds to Lewis-Manning Hospice.

Sponsored Event - this is a really simple way to raise cash for completing an unusual a task or challenge. Ask everyone you know to sponsor you and try and recruit some people to join in. Some ideas for a sponsored event include a silence, head shave, walk/run/horse-ride....the list is endless!

If you are unsure where to start and would like to talk to a member of the fundraising team about your idea then feel free to call us on 01202 701000.
