“Putting the Pieces Together”
Palliative Care—The Future  - 5 CPD points

Held on Saturday 12th May- Bournemouth University

This conference aimed to address the issues surrounding local end of life care and its future.

The conference was aimed at clinicians from all areas including the voluntary sector, nursing homes etc, managers, policy makers and those interested in palliative care.
The booking fee was £25

Key Objectives:

  • Raise awareness locally about palliative care/end of life issues and the hospice movement
  • Highlight the need for the statutory and voluntary sector to work together
  • Explore the issues surrounding widening access to patients with other than cancer
  • Examine some of the challenges to offering palliative care to patients in the long term (living with cancer as a chronic long term condition)
  • Involve perspectives from all areas, statutory, voluntary, health, social, users and carers
  • Provide an opportunity for discussion on how the information learnt can be transferred into realistic actions to initiate change.
