Charity of the Year
Luscombe Valley Steam
Luscombe Valley Steam is a special place representing one man’s lifetime dedication to steam and his ambition to keep the dream of steam alive. Richard Knott has lovingly and meticulously assembled the collection, which includes a five inch gauge, ground-level, passenger-carrying railway; a traction engine; a steam lorry; a full-sized steam car; and a 26 ft steam launch (to name but a few attractions!) in the grounds of his home in Lilliput, Poole. Richard opens his doors to the public four times a year to raise money for charity whilst at the same time give pleasure to both enthusiasts and the general public.

Both Richard and his wife Connie have been great supporters of Lewis-Manning Hospice over the years and we are delighted that they have chosen to support us again.
Whether you’re a steam enthusiast like Richard, or just someone looking for something a little bit different, a day out at Luscombe Valley Steam promises to be a worthwhile one. If you’d like to explore Richard’s dream of steam and support Lewis-Manning Hospice at the same time, head along to one of these great open days:
- Cobweb Run April 17th 18th.
- Summer Gala July 24th 25th.
- Autumn Run September 4th 5th.
- Humbug Day December 18th
at: 17 Brudenell Avenue, Lilliput, Poole.
